Woden Valley Early Learning Centre (WVELC) is a community-based, not-for-profit, nature-inspired early learning centre located in Canberra, ACT. Established in 1992, we are proud to be rated Exceeding the National Quality Standard across all seven Quality Areas, reflecting our commitment to excellence in early childhood education and care.

At WVELC, the wonders of the natural world form the foundation of our educational philosophy. We believe in fostering meaningful connections between children, nature and their community through play-based learning, hands-on exploration and thoughtfully designed learning experiences. Our curriculum embraces nature pedagogy, sustainability, creativity and children's holistic development, encouraging curiosity, independence, problem-solving and environmental responsibility.

We believe every child has the right to a respectful, inclusive and nurturing environment where meaningful relationships, a strong sense of belonging and opportunities for discovery support their growth and wellbeing. From nature walks and gardening to exploring local flora and fauna, our children are encouraged to become confident, capable and active participants in their learning.
