Enrolled Nurse – Primary Care

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant's duties will include:

• Providing high-quality nursing care within the scope of practice of an Enrolled Nurse;

• Assisting General Practitioners with patient consultations, examinations and clinical procedures;

• Performing treatment-room duties and assisting with clinical procedures;

• Undertaking wound assessment, dressing and ongoing wound management;

• Assisting with immunisations and vaccinations within the nurse's authorised scope of practice;

• Performing ECGs and other appropriate basic clinical assessments;

• Assisting General Practitioners with patient health assessments and chronic disease management;

• Supporting infection prevention and control procedures and maintaining appropriate clinical standards;

• Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential clinical documentation and patient records;

• Providing patient education and health-promotion information;

• Monitoring patients and reporting relevant changes or clinical concerns to the supervising Registered Nurse and/or General Practitioner;

• Assisting with the efficient day-to-day operation of the treatment room;

• Maintaining patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times; and

• Working collaboratively with GPs, nurses, administrative staff and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.
