Live-In Motel Manager

Seeking a hands-on Motel Manager to run an established Bundaberg motel. On-site accommodation provided.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, experienced and hands-on Motel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our property.

This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals who take pride in delivering outstanding guest service, maintaining high accommodation standards and managing a motel efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily motel operations, including reservations, check-ins, check-outs and guest enquiries.
• Manage online booking platforms, room availability and pricing to maximise occupancy and revenue.
• Coordinate and supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring daily room servicing and consistently high cleaning standards.
• Assist with housekeeping duties, including stripping beds, removing rubbish and room preparation when required.
• Prepare, cook and deliver breakfast to guest rooms as ordered.
• Maintain the property, including basic repairs, lawn mowing, gardening, swimming pool cleaning and water testing.
• Manage daily payments, financial reconciliations, operational records and reporting.
• Respond professionally to guest feedback, complaints and online reviews.
• Supervise staff, coordinate rosters and maintain a positive and respectful working environment.
• Monitor stock levels, supplies and operating expenses.
• Communicate regularly with the owners regarding business performance, maintenance and operational matters.
• Ensure appropriate management coverage, including weekends and after-hours emergencies.

About You

The ideal applicant will have:

• Previous motel, hotel or accommodation management experience.
• Strong customer service, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience supervising housekeeping staff and maintaining high presentation standards.
• Confidence using property management systems and online booking platforms.
• Good financial awareness, including occupancy, room rates and operating costs.
• Practical maintenance skills and a willingness to undertake hands-on duties.
• Honesty, reliability, initiative and strong problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the owners.
• Willingness to reside on-site and take responsibility for the smooth running of the motel.

Experience with GuestPoint or similar property management software would be advantageous.
